DPR Roofers, specialist roofers in Leeds, are delighted to hear that house building has doubled since 2009 and are at their highest levels in 2007.

In the latest report from the UK government, the figures show that both the starts of house builds and the completions have increased over the past 12 months. The same data also shows that in the past 3 months, the house build starts are up 31% compared to the previous quarter and 11% compared to last year. Completions are also up to a six year high.

In a statement, the housing Minister Brandon Lewis said: “House building is at the heart of our plan to ensure the recovery reaches all parts of our country. We’re turning around an industry that was devastated and getting the country building again.

“These figures show these efforts are reaping results, with house building starts having more than doubled since 2009, and completions at their highest for nearly six years. It is vital we maintain this momentum, getting workers back on sites and homes built, giving more people the chance to own their own home.”

DPR are delighted to hear of this news as although it sounds obvious, every house must have a roof and this gives us opportunities to work with housing developers. We are leading experts in domestic and commercial new roof builds across the Yorkshire region.
